Abstract

The shift to cloud-native architectures from legacy systems has become a necessity for organizations that desire scalability, agility, and cost-effectiveness. This paper delves into the systematic approach to migrating legacy systems to cloud-native architectures.

It discusses the limitations of monolithic architectures, reviews the literature, and suggests an exhaustive methodology for adopting this shift. Rehosting, replatforming, and refactoring strategies are some of the key features, along with strategies for reducing downtime and maintaining data integrity. A case study illustrates the implementation of these techniques, showcasing better performance, lower costs, and increased scalability as some of the main outcomes.
