Abstract

Predictive maintenance is a changing strategy that uses advanced technologies to maximize maintenance processes and reduce downtime. In data centers, where continuity of operations is paramount, machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the predictive maintenance field by offering actionable insights using data-driven models.

This paper discusses the application of ML in predictive maintenance for data centers, outlining its methodologies, findings, and implications. We review the state of research, the challenges, and the future horizon, while presenting a case study of its implementation in optimizing cooling systems and server performance.
